The incumbent will join an interdisciplinary materials research and development team, with collaborations in industry, universities, and other organizations conducting a wide span of basic and applied research for Department of Defense (DoD) and Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) applications. Topics include: cold regions infrastructure; ice adhesion; water resources; properties of frozen materials. In these research topics, emphasis is given to materials properties and unraveling the role that thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties play on the behavior of materials in cold environments.
