Director of Transportation Services

The City of Dubuque invites applications for the position of Director of Transportation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, policy and implementation for the Department which includes the Transit Division and the Parking Utility Division. The Director of Transportation Services strategizes, manages and continually refines the transportation operations within the City of Dubuque. They also plan, direct and coordinate the transportation operations; provide analysis, review, design, supervision and direction of the Transportation Services Department. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in business administration or management; transportation; urban, regional or transportation planning; traffic, industrial or civil engineering; public administration; economics; or related field; 3 or more years of experience in a management position, preferably with a specialization in the transportation industry; experience working with a diverse workforce and population; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the minimum qualifications are required. The successful candidate will possess the ability to follow a management philosophy that is input oriented and values equity, problem solving and the development of partnerships; and desire to be part of an organization that values service, people, integrity, responsibility, innovation and teamwork.
