Rehabilitation Rep 44112

This is a six month temporary position. It assists persons with disabilities to significantly increase their vocational, personal, and financial independence with special attention to individuals with severe disabilities and significant vocational impediments within Dakota County. The position will focus on serving transition students. 

Responsibilities include:

To provide guidance towards formulating a vocational goal as well as develop with each person a realistic job placement and follow-up plan so that they are successful in obtaining, securing, and retaining appropriate employment. Under the approval and guidance of a VR Counselor and/or supervisor, manage a case load of participants that are involved in the Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program.

To be fully cognizant of and adhere to ethical standards and to participate in professional growth activities and training so as to maintain the highest level

of service to clients.

Travel will be required with significant travel to assigned area schools and businesses.

Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or in a social services field (including Education)

OR

Bachelor's degree in any field plus two years experience providing employment related services for persons with disabilities.

Excellent human relations skills are required to build cooperative working relationships with the student as well as partners (including local schools) in the provision of Transition Services. 

Experience working with youth - including youth with disabilities.   

Experience in providing career/employment related services.

Experience working with Workforce One case management system.

Knowledge of pre-employment transition services.
