Pharmacist/PIC

Maintain a pharmacy which acts within the requirements set forth by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy and the AR State Department of Health and have the necessary equipment and references available.

Manufacture of pharmaceuticals, including compounding.

Dispensing of drugs and pharmaceutical preparations.

Filling and labeling of drug containers issued to other services, i.e. ER Department.

Routine inspection of all pharmaceuticals in service areas.

Maintenance of approved stock antidotes and other emergency drugs.

Dispensing of controlled substances.  A perpetual inventory of Class II drugs is maintained at ESH.

Maintenance of proper records regarding control of all pharmaceuticals and other substances within the department.

Specifications to the quality and source of preparations purchase for the department from reputable companies.  Computerized ordering provides record keeping as to ordering and credits of pharmaceuticals.

Shall maintain proper record keeping, storage of records for the prescribed period of time by legal or hospital requirements and assurance that all records are readily available.

Develops and completes initial and annual competency skills checklist with all staff, in a timely manner.

Develops and implements QAPI score and data monthly to leadership and quality council.

Conduct monthly relevant in-service training for department personnel.

Develops, implements, and monitors annual Fiscal year budget.
