Job Description

Provide for the evaluation of existing production processes and for suggesting ways to improve production efficiencies, quality, and safety. Assume technical responsibility for assigned projects and tasks, establish project schedules, perform preliminary studies to determine value and cost of installation of new equipment, plant expansion, etc. Ensure that proper standards of safety, engineering and construction are understood and followed by personnel working on the project.

 

Job Duties

The incumbent is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing the engineering and construction of new production facilities, the alteration of existing structures and facilities and the installation of major new machinery. Also responsible for the evaluation of existing production processes and for suggesting ways to improve production efficiencies, quality, and safety. Other duties include assume technical responsibility for assigned projects and tasks, guide and instruct construction and division personnel; instruct personnel in operation of maintenance responsibilities of new equipment; make regular visits to project sites; ensure proper standards of safety, engineering and construction are followed; establish project schedules, perform preliminary studies to determine value and cost of installation of new equipment, plant expansion, compile quotes and costs; furnish federal and state government agencies information for permits and licenses; assist in selecting subcontractors, architects or engineering firms and consultants; receive monthly reports; approve invoices for materials and equipment as well as other duties as assigned. Ensure that proper standards of safety, engineering and construction are understood and followed by personnel working on the various projects.

Bachelor's degree in engineering.  

Must be proficient in the use of personal computer.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must have strong communication skills.

Must have strong math skills.
