Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant supports the Controller in preparing journal entries, assisting in the
preparation of financial statements, and performing bank and general ledger reconciliations.
This role oversees accounts payable and receivable, maintains internal controls, and
coordinates audits. By ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with internal
policies, the Staff Accountant contributes to the financial integrity and success of the company.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist in preparing financial statements
- Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
- Review and process invoices, manage expense reports, and reconcile vendor statements
- Maintain and enforce internal controls
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure compliance with internal policiesand regulatory requirements
- Prepare and maintain audit documentation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Analyze financial data, assist in budget preparation, and monitor financial performance against budgets
- Maintain documentation, records retention, and file management
- Identify and recommend process improvements, assist in implementing new accounting systems, and train staff on procedures
- Provide support to the Controller and participate in team meetings
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong documentation, records retention, and file management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with accounting software and systems
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and external auditors
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex financial issues
- Capability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify trends
- Critical thinking abilities to make sound financial decisions
- Ability to conduct thorough financial analysis and generate insightful reports

Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field Required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices preferred.
