Summer Day Camp Counselor
Lake Nixon Summer Day Camp Counselors will work in teams to lead their group of campers through a daily schedule of outdoor enrichment activities, helping them learn new skills and guiding them in personal growth. Counselors should be comfortable giving directions and outlining expectations to campers, tending to minor first aid needs, and engaging in play with campers, (including swimming, hiking, and games,) as well as maintaining appropriate leadership and influence on camper behavior. Camp Counselors must be at least 18 years old by the start of staff training week, be or become certified in First Aid/CPR (certification available during training week,) submit health history and examination form prior to first day of work, and complete and pass all background checks. Staff training begins the day after Memorial Day and runs from May 27th through May 31st. Camp runs for ten weeks, beginning June 2nd and ending August 8th. While we would love to have you for the whole summer, if your availability is limited, go ahead and fill out the form anyway, we may be able to accommodate your schedule.
