Day Camp Lifeguard

Lake Nixon Summer Day Camp Lifeguards provide safety for campers and staff on the waterfront at scheduled swim and water activity times, as well as  monitor and maintain aquatic facilities and equipment. When not on the stand, Guards assist with other things like morning welcome and car rider line. Lifeguards' schedules include working two weekend rental events at Lake Nixon during the summer season, (with increased hourly pay rate for weekend and holiday hours.) Camp Lifeguarding might be for you if you love being in and around the water, enjoy working with kids, have a good eye for safety, are willing to learn new skills, and can work well under pressure, (the campers are counting on you!) Lifeguards must be at least 16 years of age, be or become certified in First Aid/CPR (certification may be available during training) , submit health history and examination form prior to first day of work, and pass all background checks. If you have previous experience working at a pool or waterfront, let us know. Lifeguards' days typically run from 8 to 4:30, and as with most camp jobs, Guards are usually working outside all day. Staff training week begins the day after Memorial Day on May 27th and runs through May 31st. Camp begins June 2nd and ends August 8th. If you're interested but not sure you're available the full time, go ahead and fill out the form, we may be able to accommodate your schedule.
