The parents were really sweet, and the organization took really good care of us when the pandemic hit to ensure we were compensated.

I wish the management respected the employees more. The pay was also minimal for the work load.

What I liked

I liked that it provided me an opportunity to teach children in a preschool setting. It definitely opened up my mind to how child development and education are intertwined.

What I wish was different

Since I was(and are currently) a substitute I was asked to step into a variety of different situations and classrooms. I feel as if I had taken a full time position and been involved with one group of students over period of time would have been beneficial for me in terms of classroom management, and lesson planning

Advice

Education is DIFFERENT everywhere. Just be willing to accept that there will be challenging days but you can always get through them. And to help and support your fellow teachers/colleagues because they are working just as hard as you. Always look out for each other and help if needed.

Extremely welcoming staff and very friendly parents. Childcare center is extremely professional and clean. The curriculum definitely prepare children for future grade levels

What I wish was different

I wish I would've used resources on Hand Shake to clean up/organize my resume. I would also use the interview tip sheet for all future interviews.

Advice

Please research and use all resources on Hand Shake. Hand Shake will help you prepare for your interview and give you tips as to how to make you stand out. I truly love and appreciate how Hand Shake assist military veterans find jobs as well.
